Gigantor is a non-profit club. All proceeds go to the Edinburgh Uni scifi society to buy books and DVDs. If you're a scifi nerd, you'll realise that this is a great idea. If you're not a scifi nerd, just be thankful that by buying them books and DVDs, you're helping to keep them off the streets.

We play a wide mix of alternative, punk, industrial and goth music, always aiming to make you dance til you puke.

The DJs are vegetarian and vegan, and keep their records in a pleasant free range environment between gigs, feeding them exclusively on organically grown dust. There is however, an unavoidable necessity to cram them into veal crates in order to transport them to the venue.

We've been running this particular club for about 17 years or so. Despite that, we haven't really gotten any better at it, and no - we haven't got many new records, either :)

Gigantor is held in Teviot, Bristo Square - downstairs in The Underground. Students and non-students can all get in, but the door staff require everyone to have photo I.D and you'll have to scribble your name on a bit of paper at the door. If you're not sure where Teviot is, here's a map Once inside, you'll find cheap drinks, several bars, a pretty damn good sound system and lighting rig, some comfy seats, some not-so-comfy seats, and an eclectic collection of cracking tunes - all for a low, low price of £2 (or £1 if you're a member of the SF society)
